    11) Give it time

If you're not where you want to be, you probably haven't been doing it long enough.

Assuming you're putting in effort, doing the work, focusing on what matters, measuring the relevant variables, consistently making improvements, the only missing ingredient is time.

Progress in fitness can take months or years to become apparent.

Documenting your lifts, your body weight, body fat percentage, your food intake, and your physique gives you actionable data to change your training methods, but it also gives you the ability to confidently say, "I've made progress".

Sometimes it takes a year of training and dieting to be able to point to two data points and draw a positive slope of progress between them.

If lots of time has gone by, you've been tracking your important metrics, and you can confidently say "I haven't made any progress", then of course it's time to switch things up.

But usually, if you've been focusing on the process, you will be able to see some progress. And if that's the case, just keep going.
